A US-based company that produces and distributes window films recently discovered that their former distributors had stolen their trademark by registering it in Ukraine and Brazil without their authorization. The director of the company approached us with great concern and explained the situation. To resolve the issue, we immediately contacted our attorney in Ukraine and provided proof that our client was the true owner of the trademark. Consequently, the distributor's application was rejected, and we successfully filed the mark in that country.
In Brazil, we assisted the company in reaching an agreement with the distributor and prepared an assignment to transfer the trademark rights back to the original owner. With the assignment now complete, the mark rightfully belongs to our client.
Following this incident, we recommended that the company file for trademark protection in all the countries where they planned to sell their products. The company took our advice and successfully filed for several trademarks in multiple countries.
Overall, our quick action and expert guidance enabled the company to regain control of their stolen trademark and protect their intellectual property in multiple countries.
