Trademark renewal in Italy
It is necessary to renew the trademark in Italy every 10 years. The application can be submitted to the National Intellectual Property Office. The procedure requires a local attorney.
The application is processed from 6 months to 1 year. Expanding the effect of an international brand is easier and faster in the Madrid system. In both cases, the application must be written in Italian.
Government fee for the First Renewal (valid for 10 years, the fees do not include legal fees):
- 101.00 euros – registration fee including 1 class
- 34.00 for each extra class
Grace period in Italy is 6 months, the associated government fee is 34.00 euros.
Trademark registration Cost in Italy
The official fee for trademark registration in Italy is approx. EUR 160.00 for one class and approx. EUR 34.00 for each additional class, excluding trademark agent charges, stamp and other duties.
The official fee payable on filing the power of attorney is a further EUR 34.00.
A trademark registration is valid for 10 years in Italy starting from the filing date.
Note, that in Italy the price of a registration request does not include final registration fees. The prices do not include any legal defenses in case of oppositions or objections.
